(Kaieteur News) – Perspective, the local art exhibition showcasing the diverse talents of eight carefully selected artists, each excelling in their respective fields of fine arts/ craft will be open to the public from October 21st to 31st, at Castellani House.
Under the theme “Dialogue of the Brush,” the inaugural event celebrates artistic freedom and expression. It also provides artists the liberty to create without constraints, allowing their individualism to unfold naturally. This exhibition was born when a small group of talented artists who decided to seize the opportunity to create something meaningful. Initially forming a core team of five, the group gradually expanded to include a total of eight artists.
Artist and coordinators of the event, Leon Hardowar explained that many of the participants are friends.
He noted that “We understand each other’s strengths and talents, which has helped us work collaboratively and harmoniously. Over time, we steadily organised and developed the concept, bringing our shared vision to life. What makes it different from the rest of the exhibition? All artworks on display are original creations produced in 2025 and will be exhibited for the first time. Each piece will be accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity issued by Castellani, ensuring its provenance and value.”
Participating artists will benefit from the exhibition by offering an opportunity to connect with art enthusiasts, collectors and networking.

His artistic journey began at Rewa Nursery and Primary School, where he discovered his passion for drawing. This early interest blossomed during his time at Annai Secondary School, where he excelled in art and realised his potential as a professional artist through his CXC examinations.
Demion further developed his skills at the E.R. Burrowes School of Arts, laying the groundwork for his artistic career. Although he faced challenges in completing his formal education due to a lack of support, he remained undeterred. Her work focuses on improving access to justice for women, girls and Indigenous peoples and takes her to several regions of Guyana.
Born in 1992, Leon Hardowar developed his love for the arts at a young age, not surprisingly, by exploring his fascination with the surrounding fauna and eagerly trying to capture the beauty of it all on paper in full colour. He later went on to formally pursue his interest in art at the E.R. Burrowes School of Art, where he obtained relevant certificates in painting, drawing, photography and graphic design.
In recent years, he has built a tremendous portfolio in digital and oil painting, specialising in nature and wildlife painting, portraits, and fan art. He especially hopes that some day his artwork can bring awareness to the rich biodiversity in Guyana. Most of Leon’s work is done in realism, with techniques such as the illusion of details and depth of field, focusing mostly on the foreground while making the background as minimalistic as possible.

Guyanese-born Artist, Sheliza Rampersaud, is on a creative journey, an exploration of the intricate relationship between the natural world, human existence, and cultural diversity.

Tammy Walker is a Guyanese oil painter whose work bursts with the vibrant spirit of the landscapes she calls home. From the flowing river of Koriabo to the glistening bronze waters of the Demerara River and the Atlantic Ocean, Tammy roams across Guyana, capturing scenes that speak to its raw, natural soul. With a camera in hand, she curates visual narratives through her own photography images that later evolve into richly textured paintings alive with movement and emotion. Known for her dynamic, creative rhythm, Tammy rarely commits to a single canvas at a time. Instead, she dances between multiple works-in-progress, allowing her ideas to unfold organically. This multi-project approach reflects her belief that creativity thrives in motion and multiplicity. Each painting becomes a window into her thoughts, a carefully layered blend of colour, story, and place. Her art is a celebration of Guyana’s untamed beauty and a testament to the intimate relationship between artist and environment. With every brushstroke, Tammy invites viewers to experience not only the majesty of the terrain but also the personal journey behind its portrayal.
